Announcements

***Congratulations to Jay for setting a new Basin year record...with more than two months left in the year! 266--Wow! Can he hit 270?!

  • Cup Quotes - bits of posts and conversations worth remembering.
  • Please keep your monthly totals up to date to participate in the Cup.
  • The 2010 Who-got-what-when is a way we can share our basin year lists, figure out what to search for together, and know whom to ask where to find something.
  • Basin boundary: the Cayuga Lake Basin is not the same as the drainage.  The Basin excludes Seneca Lake drainage, even though Seneca Lake flows into the Seneca River, which flows into the north end of Cayuga Lake.  Instead the Basin includes the drainage of a number of streams which flow into neither Cayuga nor Seneca nor Owasco Lake but north into the Seneca River.  Similarly the Basin includes land to the north which drains south into the Seneca and Clyde Rivers, including the Montezuma Wetlands Complex and Howland Island, but nothing that drains north directly toward Lake Ontario.  View the basin, drawn on a map of the Finger lakes, reprinted from Wiegand & Eames, _Flora of the Cayuga Lake Basin_:

How to insert a row in a table:

1) Click on "edit" at the top (next to "view")

2) Place cursor on left-most cell of the row above where you want to insert a row

3) Place the mouse arrow in that same cell

4) On a MAC hold down the "control" key and hit the mousepad; On a PC right-click the mouse.

5) A box of choices appears.  Drag the mouse arrow right to choose "row."

6) Another box appears to the right. Drag the mouse arrow right to choose "insert row below" and click.

7) A blank row of cells appears.  Just type in them.

8) Click "save" at the bottom.

This new system is a pain in the butt.  I haven't figured out how else other than copying blocks, but that gets awkward because sometimes only partial rows get copied.

--Dave Nutter

If you select the ENTIRE row when copying and pasting, then it seems to work reliably.
